North Pole Band Boosters

What does NPBB do for the kids?

The North Pole Band Booster (NPBB) organization is made of up parents and friends of the North Pole middle school and high school band students. As a member of the NPBB, you are part of the award-winning Knight and Patriot band programs – the largest student organization at North Pole middle school, and one of the fastest growing programs at North Pole high school. Your family’s membership helps to defray the costs of keeping our highly successful band program competitive. The Band Boosters provide financial assistance at both the middle school and high school level, helping to defray the costs of key items such as instrument purchases, maintenance and repair, indoor marching music and drill design, clinicians, additional instructors for band, percussion and color guard assistance, props, uniform repairs and replacement, equipment trailers and transportation, a music library, technology and software programs such as SmartMusic, as well as scholarships for need-based private lessons and further study in college.

It’s not all about money, however; the boosters also provide physical and moral support to our bands by moving equipment, chaperoning trips, cheering from the stands and much more. It truly takes a village to be successful. Be sure to check out the Volunteer section to learn more about all the ways you can help, whether your child is a sixth-grader or a senior.

What does NPBB do for you?

Joining the North Pole band booster organization is not all about what you can do for the band – it’s also about what being a booster can do for you! As one long-time band parent puts it, “Band Boosters is where I go to find out what’s really happening in band from a parents’ point of view. I know I can ask ‘parent-to-parent’ questions such as ‘Does it matter if my child takes private lessons?’ or ‘My child doesn’t have time to do his homework – how does yours get it done?’

Taking an active role as a band parent keeps you involved in your teenager’s life, and you might make some great friends along the way. The band kids are taught to ‘band together’, and the Band Boosters keeps the parents banding together as well.

When does NPBB meet?

Band booster meetings are held monthly at 6:30pm during the school year in the high school band hall unless otherwise announced (Board meetings are open and will only be closed for special circumstances). We endeavor to FINISH the meetings by 8:00 pm, and we encourage all booster members to attend! Check the calendar for the specific dates of the meetings, or download the 2023-2024 Booster Meeting Schedule.

For more information or to become a band booster, please contact our VP of Membership (email address will become live after the first booster meeting of the year).
