Greetings, families!
As we approach the last month of summer vacation, I’d like to send out a very short (1 min) Beginning Band Survey to help our beginner classes get off to a great start this fall! The survey will ask you questions about:
- your student’s instrument preference.
- whether or not you would like to attend an optional Instrument Petting Zoo at NPMS.
- how you would like to get your instrument for band (rent from school, Rent-to-Own, purchase, already own).
It is also not too late to register for the school district’s FREE JUMP START MUSIC CAMP. The camp is held at Ryan Middle School each morning from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon the week of July 31st – August 4th. Registrations are due by Monday, July 17th.
A word about the camp:
“Jump Start your understanding of the basics of playing an instrument before you join band or orchestra! Students will learn how to assemble and hold the instrument, as well as how to play their first notes from certified music instructors. Students and faculty will perform on the last day of camp! Instruments are provided!”
The NPMS Bands calendar of events has also been updated on the North Pole Bands website. Share settings were a little off in the previous email, but you should be able to access it now. There will be several additions to the calendar over the next few weeks, but I think it’s important for you to know that this year’s Middle School concerts will be held at North Pole High School on the following dates:
- Thursday, October 12th, 2023
- Thursday, December 14th, 2023
- Tuesday, February 27th, 2024
- Tuesday, May 7th, 2024
